Jumping in Feet First

Okay, so I know I’ve been annoying (af) with all my food posts, but now you see there was a reason.

I’ve decided to start a food blog! I actually started doing this about a month ago but hesitated for one (insecure) reason after another.  But if  the recent events in the news and even in my own life have taught me anything, it is to be brave and to live, you never know what the future holds so you may as well do what you love.  Cooking has always been that for me.  A safe place, a diversion, a place where I feel complete, secure and happy.

I remember vividly helping my mother in the kitchen when I was younger.  Thankfully, she fully embraced being a teacher and allowed me to do certain things, like dress the salad, season the potatoes or prepare the ricotta.  We would talk about our day and work together making dinner for the night.  It was always full of love and laughter and above all a feeling of peace and safety.  (Mom stop crying!)

A few things you should know about this site.  It’s going to be a huge learning curve for me, I still don’t even know what this whole WordPress thing is or how to navigate it; bear with me as I learn as I go.  If you have any tips on this, please share, seriously!  I’m not great at measurements, a pinch of this, a handful of that, needs a little zing of something here, but I will try my best to be as accurate as possible.  What I love the most about cooking is it’s ability to adapt to each person’s different tastes and likings.  So please use any recipe I give or use as a guide, if you like less salt (but why?) then please do, more cheese (always) than throw it in.  You get the idea?

I’m not a chef, never trained in culinary arts but just enjoy the ease of being in a kitchen, using my tried and true favorites, but always looking for new ones to add in.  I scan recipes all the time, have some very beloved cookbooks and a million saved on Pinterest, Facebook & Instagram.

In the next few weeks I will put up the recipes for back posted pictures; and with recent pics, will post the recipe within a day or two.

I hope that you try them out, make them your own and above all learn to love to cook as much as I do.
